responding to a prompt from napowrimo.net to use one of a list of words as an inspiring title I, so tired so very, very tired ... but you, dear hummingbird incandescent let me give you my last ember and watch you fan a new flame

Global Poetry Writing Month, Day 28
(For Sundays I've decided to write thank-you poems to my loving Maker.) for rest when it's needed in warmth and in peace for both meaningful tasks and moments of ease Thank You Global Poetry Writing Month, Day 27
we each have our own dictionary with our own unique definitions thus in our conversations we each hear only ourselves and so we are each alone at least begun with the napowrimo.net prompt to write a poem that involves alliteration, consonance, and assonance.
my diminutive dewdrop in the sea of pieces written and to be how can it matter an iota or serve as more than a coda for my thoughts before they fade will it be caught or dissipate? perhaps truly it will not matter that I wrote in the hereafter but isn't it a wonder He knows my thoughts e'en before I do. Global Poetry Writing Month, Day 25
responding to the napowrimo.net prompt "to write a poem based on the 'Proust Questionnaire,' a set of questions drawn from Victorian-era parlor games, and adapted by modern interviewers." I chose the question "What is your motto?" When storms threaten death and swallow my mast God is my anchor his love is what lasts. Global Poetry Writing Month, Day 24
If a snowflake's a child's kiss soft on your cheek, I am the puppy's: a solid wet streak Answer: sleet I admire
ears that listen even to thoughts that disagree arms that welcome even those they may not wish to see hearts that hold even that which weighs painfully hope relentless even when no glimpse of light can be seen love that lasts. Global Poetry Writing Month, Day 22
responding to the napowrimo.net prompt to write a poem in which two things have a fight. It's said it all depends on which one you feed the shadow or light but starvation unleashes all manner of fierceness the shadow's teeth are needle-sharp the shadow's eyes abysmal holes the light is strong but must be sought the shadow hides it in its bulk it curls around constrictor-tight but I cling to a single strand I will unknot the two that fight and feed the one from my own hand Global Poetry Writing Month, Day 21
(For Sundays I've decided to write thank-you poems to my loving Maker.) for songs sung at table dancing in the hall for music that buoys through each rise and fall Thank You I had trouble piecing together a poem today, but I am glad to be challenged to write anyway. This simple poem tries to share a thought that means more to me than I can say.
I am learning not everyone wants to share not everyone cares to hear not everyone wants to stay not everyone cares to be near but some DO and oh, how thankful I am. |
